in todays news…
The AP just released a story saying the former Chief United Nations nuclear inspector Mohamed ElBaradei (of Egyptian decent) has called for the entire Bush administration to be considered for trial in regards to war crimes in the court of nations.
ElBaradei claims he was in a meeting with Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice where they sought to use the United Nations as a “cover” to “inspect” operations in Iraq. The ploy did not work, and the UN determined that Iraq possessed no such weapons of mass destruction.
Even with the U.N.’s findings, ElBaradei says Bush was hell bent on removing Saddam and killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqi’s to prove a point. This is nothing new…the streets have been saying the same thing for awhile now. But coming from a UN official may shed some new light on the situation.
What would that mean for the US? No president in the history of the US has been brought to trial for the American led atrocities in war. But ElBaradei asks: “Do we, as a community of nations, have the wisdom and courage to take the corrective measures needed, to ensure that such a tragedy will never happen again?”
America…your chickens appear to be coming home to roost.
